After qualifying I was a mobile therapist for a year before having my first salon in Queens Terrace 29 years ago. I originally worked by myself whilst continuing to build the business. I then decided to take on hairdressers in order to take advantage of each others complimentary services.
From there after employing another therapist and with trade increasing we moved to larger premises in the prestigious area of Oxford Street in Southampton. From Oxford Street after continued growth and the beauty industry as a whole taking a new direction into different concepts of treatments. We expanded onto the High Street.
Building on previous success, I launched a Beauty & Therapy Centre with state of the art treatments and equipment, combined with old fashioned holistic and traditional therapies in a relaxing environment over three floors. It was ("a little bit of heaven in the heart of Southampton")
Due to increasing family commitments and a new business venture I left the high street. In reality I missed my clients and the beauty industry as a whole and so I returned to the industry, bringing the salon to you in the comfort of your own home, providing a full range of treatments that I offered within the salon including specialised treatments such as electrolysis.
I have been in the beauty industry for over two decades and during that time I have certainly experienced it all! I have been a qualified therapist since 1989 and trained privately at Belbins Health and Beauty Academy in Romsey .
During my training I thoroughly enjoyed the hair removal module and over the years I have homed and crafted those skills. I had learned and in doing so have become more efficient with outstanding results. Electrolysis is not often found at many salons today and over the years I have had people come from far afield for courses. The beauty hut thinks that everyone should be able to indulge themselves and use our services. We have many clients with disabilities who have become regular customers.
The beauty hut has been involved in numerous different community based projects working in conjunction with the probation service, Motiv8 and young people's projects. We have provided treatments, services help and advice and used our skills to help at many charity events and functions raising money for many worthy causes.
Brighten up someone's day or why not get a group of friends together and have some fun.
